We are seeking an experienced IT Manager with strong management skills and dynamic leadership abilities. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in building, leading, mentoring, and managing high-performance software development teams and projects. Experience with agile software development teams and working with remote stakeholders is required. Responsibilities

SEB is looking for a talented manager to join their Asian Development Centre in Kuala Lumpur (ADC). The successful candidate will be responsible to lead and mentor software development teams, provide strong leadership to ensure smooth delivery of newly developed applications and/or improving existing applications to meet the changing needs of our business and customers.
The candidate will be working closely with software delivery teams, local management team in KL and stakeholders in Europe to ensure delivery goals are met consistently and that the software development and delivery cycles are running optimally.
As a manager, you will ensure the development teams are kept highly motivated and deliver good results. You will ensure that teams have appropriate product knowledge, direction, and resources to deliver products effectively.
You will be involved in Resource Management, Recruitment, and on-boarding new team members. You will also be responsible for performance appraisals held yearly for the team and involved in compiling feedback relevant parties. Apart from that you will be involved in personal development planning for the Software Development teams.
Most of all you are a strong driver with an eagerness to succeed, you can think out of the box when needed and are not afraid to speak up and join in solving various challenges. You don’t see problems, but you see opportunities to overcome challenges.
You will also participate in discussions and provide insights and contribute ideas to Higher Management on matters relating to processes, people management and productivity.

Qualifications

  • Managerial experience in an IT organization.
  • Strong management skills and dynamic leadership ability that can develop and energize a multi-disciplined and high-performance work group
  • Proven experience in building, leading, mentoring and managing software development teams/projects.
  • Demonstrable ability to maintain productivity in an ever-changing environment with competing priorities
  • Must be proactive and able to work independently
  • Has experience being a part of agile software development teams
  • Experience working with remote stakeholders

Education

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field

Travelling

You may be required to travel to Europe depending on project requirements or other needs
