It creates many opportunities, including understanding the challenges at an industry level that we can create solutions to data problems on. It also gives us relationships with 270 asset managers who we can engage with to sell Fundipedia to.
We are profitable and invest back in to growing the business. Our 2024 plans include:
  • Geographic expansion into Lux/NYC - creating bases and generating leads in each space directly and via partnerships with AFMC and Deloitte. We are just about to bring our first salesperson in Luxembourg.
  • At least one client in the private asset space using Fundipedia to manage their closed/alternative product.
  • The launch of Fundipedia CAM, a sister product to Fundipedia’s core Fundi Product
Despite having grown rapidly over the past 5 years we’ve invested a great deal of energy keeping our technology up to date. No system is without technical debt, but we spent the majority of 2023 clearing down a significant amount of ours readying us for a range of new feature developments and UI/UX enhancements we are excited to deliver to clients.
We will also leverage OpenAI and other new technologies to provide incredible customer experiences.
We also wish to grow our development team slowly but surely, and the engineering manager will oversee this process by hand picking their team

Responsibilities

The Head of Software Engineering is focused on team management and delivery. Head of Software Engineering works closely with Head of Architecture who is focused on strategic technical direction and high-level design of the system.
Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the software development lifecycle, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
  • Break down complex projects into manageable tasks, assign responsibilities, and ensure deliverables are met on time and within budget.
  • Foster accountability within the development team for meeting milestones and communicating clearly both inside and outside of the development team.
  • Serve as the primary technical liaison internally and externally, influencing technical decisions along with our Head of Architecture.
  • Collaborate with project managers, product owners, and technical stakeholders to define project scope, requirements, and timelines based on client feedback.
  • Engage with clients from time to time to see and hear their feedback first hand.
  • Participate in resource allocation, providing the business with a clear understanding of development output versus capacity.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and identify opportunities for skill development.
  • Develop an onboarding strategy for technical staff to ensure rapid assimilation.
  • Oversee the review of pull requests, ensuring that we maintain high coding standards.
  • Implement and oversee testing automation.
  • Oversee automated software deployment to clients, maintaining consistency and reliability.
  • Establish and promote coding standards and integrate best practices within the team.
  • Monitor system performance, proposing and implementing enhancements.
Define and articulate a clear technical vision and strategy for software development.
  • Stay abreast of advancements in software engineering practices and technologies.
  • Assist in the maintenance of our cyber security resilience including ISO 27001, SOC II, Cyber Essentials Plus etc.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience as a senior software developer with a proven track record in technical leadership.
  • In-depth knowledge of software development methodologies and Microsoft development stack including Azure.
  • Who has experience in scale-up the teams, grow the business and overcome challenges.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire teams to deliver high quality projects on time.
  • At least three years proven experience leading and managing software engineering teams
  • Excellent communication skills including high quality requirements gathering, and clear project communications.
  • Able to report accurately on the status of all in flight software projects to the senior management team, escalating issues when necessary.
  • Proactive, organised, with exemplary time management and planning skills, capable of consistently meeting deadlines.
  • Enthusiasm for hands-on problem-solving and the initiative to address tasks proactively, with a mindset geared toward automation and efficiency.
  • Familiarity with code versioning tools, issue tracking systems, and collaborative development platforms (e.g. GitHub).
