At STARK we have embarked on a digital journey and with own established development teams and involving our entire value chain from sourcing to sales and every IT system that helps serve our customers better. We therefore require BI professionals to help our teams build, manage, and administer our new BI platform.
This is a flexible role with some administration focused activities, as well as BI development activities. The exact split will change depending on business demands.
Your main responsibilities will be:
• Design, develop and maintain business intelligence solutions using Power BI;
• Create visualizations and reports for requested projects;
• Develop and maintain Power BI datasets and dataflows;
• Translate business needs to technical specifications;
• Model data to optimize performance;
• Write code to create measures and KPIs;
• Assist in optimizing current Power BI Reports;
• Take an active role within our team in governing and administering our Power BI platform;
• Optimizing how we utilize our Premium Capacity;
• Defining rules and guidelines for other developers to follow;
• Performing landscape administration tasks (e.g., maintaining gateways, tenant settings, auditing workspaces etc.).
Notes:
• Expected 60% development and 40% administration (but flexible).
• Stark is building a completely new Power BI landscape.
• Incredibly flat organization.
Main tech stack used:
• Power BI;
• Power Query;
• Data Analysis Expressions (DAX);
• Power Query Formula Language (M);
• Azure stack (ADLS, Databricks and more);
• SQL;
Soft Skills Requirements:
• You can easily translate business concepts into technical specifications and vice versa;
• Creative Problem solver and negotiator;
• You have a flexible and organized work style;
• You are an excellent communicator;
• You have experience working on an international scale with a variety of cultures;
• Ability and willingness to adapt to an ever-changing environment.
Must-Have Skills:
• +4 years of experience with Power BI Development, Power BI Service and Power BI Premium Capacity administration;
• Working experience as a BI developer, or in similar roles;
• Experience in working with databases and BI Reporting projects;
• Expert experience within Microsoft Power BI. Includes, but not limited, to Power BI Administration, report and dashboard development, application security layer models, dataset development;
• Experience with designing and data modelling;
• Wide understanding of Data Warehouse and BI methodologies and concepts;
• Experience with Power BI Service, Power BI Premium administration;
• Experience in building enterprise-wide data models.
Good-to-Have Skills:
• Experience working with Azure and DataBricks;
• Experience with other Power Platform products is an advantage;
• Experience with Power Shell, Cloud Shell, REST API is an advantage;
• Ability to write excellent documentation/guidelines;
• Solid understanding of UX/UI design principles.
Other Requirements:
• Experience in building enterprise-wide data models;
• Wide understanding of Data Warehouse and BI methodologies and concepts;
• Ability to communicate professionally in English.
• MSc. Business Intelligence or similar University education OR relevant years of experience.
• Microsoft Power BI Certification PL-300 is an advantage.
