Responsibilities

Yeldify is seeking for an experienced Tech Lead to join their new development team in Lisbon.

The main responsibilities will be:

- People management responsibility for a team of engineers (main stack: Node.js + React).
- Improve engineering quality, efficiency and delivery primarily through a focus on developing people, driving performance and advocating technical excellence.
- Drive professional growth for individuals through performance improvement, coaching and career development.
- Distribute company communication clearly and effectively to help align the organisation with the overall company direction and business objectives.
- Ability to proactively listen, identify and feedback employee concerns to improve company culture, resolve workplace issues and keep employee satisfaction high, taking ownership for actively resolving issues.
- Manage employee administration inc. vacation approvals, conduct performance and compensation reviews, arrange training and development plans etc.
- Advise on technical best practices, solution design, and mentor engineers.
- Work closely with key stakeholders across Product and Engineering (e.g. Product Managers and Tech Leads) and other teams to improve efficiency and support the delivery of projects and initiatives.
- Help grow the team by partnering with Talent Acquisition and People to help attract, hire, onboard and develop engineers.

Qualifications

Technical Requirements:
● +1 years experience in a people management role of at least 4 people.
● +5 years of experience in software engineering. Preference will be given to candidates with experience with Node.js and React, however we’re also considering candidates with experience in Java or Python on the Backend and with JavaScript or Angular or Vue.js on the Frontend.
● Experience building or maintaining REST API(s).
● Ability to speak and write in English fluently.

Good-to-Have:
● Experience with Redux & redux-saga.
● Experience writing typescript code.
● Experience optimizing the performance of JavaScript based applications.
● Past exposure to scrum/agile software development processes.

Our tech stack, that you may know or like to learn includes:
● Typescript both front-end & back-end (with Node.js).
● We use Angular & React with Tailwind.
● AWS (Lambda, SNS/SQS, Kinesis, S3, DynamoDB, Redis).
● Postgres.
● Fastly / VCL.
● Jenkins.
● Docker.
● Kubernetes.
● Github.

Soft-Skills:
● Good listener and able to be empathetic to multiple perspectives and remain subjective when making decisions on the best resolution.
● Problem solver with strong analytical skills. Able to understand context and resolve issues quickly, both from a technical and people management perspective.
● Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to foster strong relationships and tailor messaging for different audiences.

Education

BSc/BA degree in computer science, engineering or related discipline OR relevant years of experience in required skills.
