Responsibilities

Manage, monitor, and ensure reliability of Company's MongoDB environment. Our environment is a large-scale environment housing over tens of terabytes of data
Troubleshoot production issues in real time as well as on an out of hours on call rotation. Typical issues include performance, data, or application related situations.

Work hands on with day-to-day tasks as well as more extensive projects such as upgrades and migrations
Identify areas of inefficiency needing improvement and refine those areas through process change, automation, or redesign.
Work cross functionally with Operations, QA, DevOps, and Software Development teams to manage the Mongo implementation as it relates to company’s objectives.
Working with the test team, to help lead stress and load testing of the product and provide recommendations for application tuning

Qualifications

Must Have:
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in 24x7, mission-critical environment
• Demonstrated MongoDB Database administration experience
• Strong knowledge of the technical aspects of database security, enterprise backup and restore, and replication strategies
• Experience with database architecture, deployment, monitoring, security, support, performance tuning, and troubleshooting of MongoDB Servers
• Experience designing and implementing complex Disaster Recovery and high availability and failover solutions
• Proven ability to plan, communicate, perform and verify production changes
• Proven experience in providing highly secure and available, fault-tolerant enterprise systems
• Experience of database design
• Experience with physical, virtual and cloud-hosted databases and able to offer insight into all
• Providing technical mentorship and cross-training to the development teams to help uplift application tuning knowledge throughout the technical team.
• Production experience with MongoDB.

Nice to Have:
• Demonstrated proficiency in managing large and complex data sets within MongoDB databases
• Hands on automation experience with Python, YAML, Unix Shell scripting, etc
• Experience with SQL Server would be a strong plus
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines
• Powershell
• MongoDB monitoring tools

Education

Bachelor’s degree in technology OR relevant years of experience in required skills (most valuable).
